The Sante Marie di Vignoni winery was born thanks to the passion for this countryside of Alfredo Generali and his son Franco, who over the years have bought several plots of land, ultimately reaching 12 hectares of vineyard and specialised olive grove.

The vineyards surround the picturesque farmhouse, where guests are invited to tasting or purchasing our wine, vin santo, grappa and olive oil.

The owners were among the first supporters of the Orcia DOC appellation, the guiding principal behind the estate is to "tend the vines as though they were a garden", so that the grapes reach the cellars in premium condition.

Their vineyards are largely planted with the Sangiovese grosso grape variety. There are also other variety, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. Our annual production is limited to about 20,000 litres of Orcia DOC and IGT red wine (about 25.000 bottles/year).
